Two ways to do this.

On the main forum index page where it says statistics at the very bottom, click the category to expand the listings " View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics • Mark forums read "

The other way is on any forum where all the threads are listed is a small red flag on the left hand side which you click to mark that forum as read.
